On my drive to go canoeing in rural Ohio, I took a short break and went into an old antique shop that had always intrigued me. It was a wild mess of old objects and very dusty. I loved it. After awhile looking around, I discovered rolls of leather tucked in the back of a run-down barn behind the store. According to the owner, the leather is about 90 years old. We bought all they had and to date we still make our back patches from those rolls of leather.
