Shop Tunes: 5.1.15
I’ve really been enjoying the new record by AWOLNATION. I stumbled upon him on spotify a while back and was captivated. It’s not normally my cup of tea, but I love a few elements of his songwriting that I haven’t heard in a while: the heavy groove, songwriting ‘surprise’ and shameless hook. It’s all wrapped up in a high energy package that is equally dance-hall & hard rock (only with keyboards instead of guitar). There is plenty of juvenile moments-both lyrically & musically, but I do find it refreshing and I think it totally works. Both of his albums are STACKED with fun songs (which is always nice to find) and it’s been my go-to for getting amped up for a run, baseball game or dealing gridlock traffic. Enjoy!
