It has been a busy week around the shop getting things in order to take a few days off. When work is stressful I tend to put one album on and listen to it over and over again until Wendy, our apprentice, gets annoyed and changes it to Bob Dylan. Blake Mills’ album Break Mirrors was the album of the week for me. The other songs were one’s I through in the mix to appease Wendy.

This week we wanted to delve into some fun and upbeat musical gems as we take a step into December- the darkest month of year after all. Maybe because we’ve wanted to try and offset seasonal affective disorder with something bright? Or perhaps just because these tunes are simply enjoyable and a little childlike. Enjoy!

This week, the thought was to pick some tunes that can welcome the changes of fall. Heartfelt, slightly sad maybe but with a hopeful end to them. The upcoming Neutral Milk Hotel show in our neighboring Covington, KY may have had some influence here.
