Shop Tunes: 11.14.14
Kicking off our #barrelagedjeans this month, I thought it would be cool to feature a Kentucky boy. I was turned onto this fella on a recent trip to Austin, and I’ve been very much enjoying it. His name is Sturgill Simpson, and he seems to be blowing up. I love the rawness of his recordings, and I’m told they were done in a matter of hours all at the same time in a Nashville studio (for under 2 grand). Not bad. He hails from Jackson / Lexington, KY and his music is emotional, folksy with clear Rockabilly influence- and yes, a touch a country. Enjoy!
